We went here for the first time today and we now have a new cafe that we will frequent often! The service was great with friendly staff and everything was excellent! Best coffee I've ever had! The owner came outside while we sat at one of the outdoor tables and chatted with us for awhile. What a great guy! He was so friendly and truly cared about our experience at his café and told us in detail how the coffee is brewed and the beans he uses. I highly recommend Cafe Cosi for coffees, breakfast and lunch!

While waiting for my Egg and Cheese w/ Sundried Tomato Aioli sandwich, I decided I'd write this review on Cafe Cosi. Firstly, when I heard a new coffee joint was going to make their debut on James Street, I was ecstatic. After visiting a few times, I can confidently say that the work the owner, Chris, has put into the leased space is nothing short of amazing. The space is now much larger, brighter, and more welcoming than the previous establishment (to be left unplugged in solidarity with the former employees). I usually rate coffee based on how it tastes without frills (just black, nothing else). The coffee here is a solid 9/10 in terms of aroma, boldness, and flavor; acidity is nowhere to be found in these beans. Whenever I'm in, Chris always appears engrossed in the workings of the espresso machine. Is he a master craftsman? Is he learning the trade? Is he cold, and does the warm steam just draw him in? We may never know, however, the results are fantastic nonetheless. Now, this seems to be a family affair during the first month or so of operations, so bear that in mind if you are in a rush. In my opinion, this is a place to be thoroughly enjoyed internally; order your guilty

Family owned, charming staff, spotlessly clean, comfortable leather couches and chairs and delicious coffee! 10/10

Haven’t tried any of the food yet but the atmosphere is great and kind owners! Tried the Sicilian Lemonade (fizzy) and loved it - super refreshing for the upcoming summer days. Perfect balance of sour and sweet and didn’t scream artificial sweeteners at my tastebuds which I appreciated 🍋🤘🏻. Coworkers tried the iced chai, iced dirty chai, and dark roast all with stellar reviews! Love to support new businesses!

It's a great atmosphere, like an Italian, Mexican or French outdoor café (only indoors). Marble tables, couches with some reading material (books and magazines), nostalgic photos on the wall, excellent overhead lighting and friendly staff and owners. Their pastries are imported from a local vendor, but sandwiches and breakfast items are all made fresh. Chris and Kate are the owners, with Hannah as the barista to make your coffee Americano, Cappuchino, Drip Coffee, Espresso, Mocha Latte, etc. (hot or cold.) I highly recommend this place for a relaxing atmosphere, with nice music selection from Italian coffee music. P.S. Did I mention it's pet friendly too? Italian Lemonaide was just put on the menu as well.
